Balancer Bolt Loosening?
I recently built my forged LS2 motor for my corvette. Nothing special, just manley rods and a set of mahle pistons, GT-11 cam, stock heads, APS TT.
When I turn the boost up to my normal 13+ psi, my balancer bolt comes loose and the balancer actually moves forward which then kicks the belt off. This has happened twice in 50 miles or less, and both times I used a new balancer bolt torqued to 240 ft lbs.
The only thing I can think to do at this point is key the balancer. I have a leftover procharger crank key for an LS1 vette. What do you guys think?

Something tells me that the press fit balancer has enough inertia to overcome the friction/pressure of the press fit design. This only happends when I'm hard on the car and doing 3rd and 4th gear hwy pulls.
Maybe the rpms climb so fast when the boost ramps up that the inertia of the balancer tries to keep it in place while the crank wants to accelerate as fast as possible?
I have never had this problem before....but that being said my nitrous t/a has a keyed balancer so there must be a reason for it.
