What type of belts do you blower guys use?
I would like to know what type of belts have you had the best luck with? Most people have had a good luck with the Goodyear Gatorback. I think I am having better luck with the Gates. Please list the type of belt ya'll use, as sort of poll.

Goodyear Gatorbacks, hands down.
They must put some steel strands in that belt (just joking) the way it holds together.
There is none better.
Here is a link to what they do to it, and answers some questions some of you have about the numerical code denoting size:

Since part number 4060495 would be a K section Poly-V belt, six ribs wide, with a length of 49 and 5/10 inches, why don't they label it:
K060495?
My labeling system would be: K6-49.5.

I have tried both Gates and Gatorback. 6 different sizes in the past week. I have to say that the Gates does better for me.

I've paid about $16 bucks for the Gator backs. They used to be more expensive, but are getting less expensive.
I have run Gatorbacks and kept better boost levels and they last longer, where I've shredded Gates and Dayco and those other belts. I've tried about three other brands besides the Goodyears.

The shorter belt you can get on there, the better, IMO. So I liked the 40.7 over the 40.8.
Again, from Mike Morgan:
K060415 for 4.5-4.25 41.5"
K060410 for 4.1-3.90 41.0"
K060408 for 3.85-3.5 40.8"
These 3 belt lengths take care of most apps.
One size may work for a couple pulley sizes.
Of course, we're talking about with his 7.875 Crank Pulley.

I use an 8-rib Bando belt, and it does not slip at all at 11 psi. There's not even a hint of 'belt dust' anywhere.
It is much better than Gates.
According to you guys, the Gatorback looks good, but since I'm not having any problems whatsoever with the Bando, I'll have to take your word for it. It's good to know that there's another good belt out there though.

I am back to the 4in pulley. I was seeing less boost with the 3.6 due to slippage. Hopefully, Ski will have luck with the 8 rib setup. Then I will try a 8 rib 3.6 pulley.
