Default Procharged 370 GTO falls on its face?

This week we did a larger FMIC ( EPP's ) and 8" custom crank pulley. D1SC spinning at max rpm now and at approx. 5500rpm or 10psi the motor just cuts out, boost stops. engine sputters/stops gaining rpm? Feels like all timing and fuel just cutout. Any ideas?

I would need to see log files with AFR,Timing etc. Sounds like tuning if fuel pressure is stable.

The most common causes I see here would be valvesprings and fuel system in that order. What springs are in it?

Sounds like a cool project...

I will attach some log files tonight after dinner but my wideband is not working properly. chasing that issue down as well. Seems maybe the richness of the car fouled my LC1.

Valvesprings are T.E.A's dual gold springs good to .650 lift
Fuel pressure never drops off...(a1000 pump, rails, boost ref regulator etc.)

Wait, since my regulator is boost referenced and now im making alot more boost my AFR should still be close just on the regulator making its own adjustments right? Since my Wideband is not working I fattened it up a little in the Power enrichment tables to be safe. That increase plus the increase in fuel pressure could make it do this correct?

Not if, as mentioned, there are fueling problems...
Pump taking a dump?
When this happens,FP is?
Plugs look like?

You need to have good wide band data / fuel pressure and Manifold pressure data if you hope to tune this thing correctly. Without the above I would not be "pushing" it too hard until its all able to be logged and adjusted accordingly.

Good Luck

I had to leave town suddenly for the weekend... I cant post my logs until Sunday night. I had a friend go to the house and get the car out. Same thing happened again and he said there is no loss in fuel pressure. I have a gauge in car and working properly. He looked at the log and said at the wide open spot where it cuts out the TPS % goes from 100 to 0 ??? That is exactly what it feels like.

About the TB closing... On a cable driven TB how is that even possible? How is it fixed?

Geezer, Fuel pump is good, pressure steady and climbing under boost and plugs are pretty damn dark...

Bye the way thanks fellas!! I will get you some better info ASAP

Did not even look at the year, assumed it was a 05'+. Anyhow if the TPS goes to 0, it could be a fault in the sensor/wiring/pcm. This would revert everything to idle tables=bad.

Got home tonight and drove the car. When making all these changes, I also did a battery relocation. tonight while driving I was getting random ABS fault light on the dash. Could the TPS sensor be getting low voltage at a particular RPM and telling the ecm to go to idle? I am wondering if this relocation is causing all the problems??

Default couple of logs showing cut-out

The Wideband still doesnt work so disregard it... I tried calibrating it and nothing. So the sensor must be bad

Still haven't seen where you have tested/replaced the TPS..
"He looked at the log and said at the wide open spot where it cuts out the TPS % goes from 100 to 0 ??? That is exactly what it feels like."
I don't use HP, so I can't look at the logs, but hopefully someone else can.
Without a continous TPS signal.. I'd start there.
Can't you just hook up HP, connect, key on, engine off, and look at a dashboard that has TPS on it, and see if the signal is smooth and continous??

What is your fuel pressure when you tip into the throttle? Does it fall off?

No drop in fuel pressure. I noticed tonight while scanning that my ecm voltage was only 11.7????? Doesnt that seem low? Would the voltage drop significantly under high rpm? Maybe if the voltage was dropping off it could be screwing with the TPS or lack of spark telling the comp to back off?

That could be as a result of your battery move. What cable size did you use and where did you attached your ground?
