I need opinions on a turbo idea. I work at a ford dealership and can get a turbo from the powerstroke diesels at a pretty good price. The turbo looks to be like a 76 or maybe a 88mm not sure, i already have a intercooler off of one that i got for free (wich i am sure would have to be modified to get to fit) Do you think that this system could be adapted to work on a LS1? I know i would have to fab up pipes and get other parts but i think this would be a cost effective way to have a big turbo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: I need opinions on a turbo idea. Are you gonna use one off a 7.3 Diesel? Those look big, but the inlet looks small to me. The A/R on the exhaust side is either a .96 a/r or a 1.00 a/r. I think the 1.00 is on the econoline vans, and the .96 is on the trucks. I can't remember what the A/R is the compressor side. I think someone has put one on a mustang, and it worked well. I hate to say this, but you may want to do a search or post over at turbomustangs.com. To answer your question, I think it should work.

Re: I need opinions on a turbo idea. I can either get one from a 7.3 or a new 6.0. I have not really looked to close at the one for a 6.0 i was thinking more of using one from the 7.3. The inlet does look a little small, there is a guy that comes in the dealership that has alot of work done to his 7.3 and said he has seen 17psi boost from the stock turbo. I would not need near that but i figure i could regulate that with a boost controller.
