Does it have the pump for the front bearing in the trans, for when doing wheel stands? I tuned one on the dyno a couple of years ago, that needed that upgraded trans. I also had to have the headers welded a few times from standing it on end in the sand! Damn supertraps! Pretty fun on the street with 33" BFG's. A lot of parasitic losses on the dyno though.

I ve go to dumont dunes with my rail and other toys as much as possible. The problem is that the best mendeola trans, or fortin or albins for that matter suck up around 30-40% of the power and break ......all the time. Any 600hp ls1 will break a 15-18k dollar trans, every year. I know a guy that has broken his 5 times with a 550 hp suby. The car is forsale ofcourse cause he cant justify the 50k he has spend in transmissions in a couple years.

We did a class one car not long ago, and it made 5xx engine dyno, and something like 297 on the chassis dyno. It was a 400+ inch ls motor.

mendeola , albins, fortin.....If I had to use it, I wouldnt except it if they gave it to me.

Besides the jump better with the engine in the front.

Not sure about the pump in the front, I didn't pay any attention. His trans. has lasted about a year now though. Last year with the 3.3 pulley and now with the 3.

This one had a manual switch to turn the pump on when doing wheel stands.

The mendeola stuff is much stronger then the porche stuff. Most mendeolas start at around 7000, and go up from there though. The problem is wheel movement. On a street car, its more unlikely that you will have traction then no traction then traction again and again and etc etc....

When the wheel moves up and down like over dunes, its constantly loaded and unloaded. With paddles, its like lifting a big slick, spinning it up to 100mph then slamming back down with tremdous traction instantly. Thats what breaks stuff, and the more power /torque you have, the less the engine gives when that happens.

Some of the stuff in the transaxles is giant, imo its just a **** poor design thats flawed from the get go. A trophy truck weights twice as much, moter in the front, 9 inch....they fly through the air better (nose up) and the 9 inch takes some serious abuse.

i see what you mean now! lol thats got to put a hell of a lot of stress on the drive trains. and with he engine hanging out the back its only going to make it worse!!

have you seen the hill climbers from Iceland?? they have pretty cool setups.

Chris.
