Your car sucks!! J/K I think you need new springs but hopefully the intercooler will help.

If you were trying to run 8 psi without the intercooler, your IAT's were likely way too high. The computer would be pulling gobs of timing to keep the motor together. You would have been better off running 5 psi, and running the correct amount of timing at that boost level until you got the IC...kind of a moot point now.

Depending on whether the car is a stick or auto pulling timing will sometimes increase boost. We pull timing in stick cars in lower rpms to decrease lag.

I am hitting 8psi at the end of first and from then on. a/r cold side is .60 and .96 exhaust side.

I think you may be onto something here. Air temps do get pretty damn hot 160 plus. As for timing it may have very little do the time tuner spent on it (i was in a hurry to get back to georgia from texas) . My tuner just set it real safe till I had time to come back.

you may want to change your a/r to .81 it will spool quicker but that is not your problem more than likely its 2 things valve springs and high iats. change these and you should be able to run 8# all day long

i was running 8lbs without an intercooler initially and since my intercooler install i was able to add 2 degrees of advance and iat was much better.power increase was also very noticable. i am still running stock springs and they are getting murdered with the boost. tons of bottomend but topend is bad with the stock springs. i would definitely recommend some springs. also have i have that intercooler and works great

Is this a new setup for you? What im getting at is has this problem been around since day one or has the setup working for you in the past?

If this is a new setup then check one really easy thing. Your turbo inlet setup. Is it just a straight filter right at the inlet or do you possibly have a silicon elbow first. If so it could be sucking shut after 4lbs. I had this problem when i first started off the the crazy world of FI.

Has the original sts design, metal elbow then filter. Noway that is hurting it. Makes 8psi, its just the power kinda stops building after 4psi.

Fuel system consists of 46lb injectors and a walbro 255l pump. Yes the intercooler is done as of today! Had the charge piping come off twice, but now is good. I am only seeing 4 to5 psi now with the intercooler, where as before I saw 7 to 8 psi. Need to reference the wastegate after the intercooler or get boost controller. Post some pics soon, camera be stupid.

Car is running pretty strong now. Just waiting on my boost controller to come in. I also have an appointment to get my car retuned for 8psi now that I can keep the IAT's in check. Got a sweet new toy too, the Interceptor gauge, IT ROCKS!!!

sure will. Hoping for 550 or so. Trying to get some 6.0 heads for it before the tune so I can run like 10-12psi.
