Well I just got back from the TA Nats. drag race held at Kil Kare raceway. I lost in the first round(broke out) but did manage a new best while there. My previous best was a 10.79@125+, and my best run today was a
60ft....1.51
1/8et...6.77
18mph...103.69mph
1/4et...10.611
1/4mph..127.40
This was at 10psi.

I remember the smell of your slipping belt at Norwalk.I guess those Reichard racing pullies really work.Hopefully ARE will finish my car soon so I can come out and make some runs with you guys.

Tom was still only seeing 10 pounds of boost on the top end. If we can get that D1 making 14 or 15, he will be in the low 10s for sure.

Thanks. Sunoco 104 Unleaded, 20 degrees - Found out after lifting the heads twice that 30-31 degrees is too much for a forced induction car.

That was the puzzler, even at 31 degrees and 8-10 psi I saw little or no KR. I thought heck I'll raise the timing until I see knock and then back it off a little. After the heads lifted at Bowling Green on the 10.79 pass, Mike(Twin Incon CE) mentioned to the guys from Detroit Speed about my car and they said where's his timing? I told Mike and he told me they said the higher the timing you go the more cylinder pressure that's created. So when you add boost and high timing it creates to much cylinder pressure and you have the problems I had. So there goes my backyard tuning I guess. I dropped the timing back to 20, installed factory gm head gaskets and the car picked up a bunch of HP. I dropped my ET and got more mph when I dropped the timing. Made me ditch the et street due to more low end torque and now I'm going to run a set of et drags. Maybe then I can use the trans brake.

John I'm running the same gas as Mike in the twin incon CE car, it's 104 Sunco unleaded. I've yet to try it at any other timing than 30-31 degrees and at 20 degrees. I haven't had much track time lately due to illness in my family and the only tuning it's had is when Todd=Reckless and myself took it and started tuning on the dyno but had problems with the car shutting off. I plan a dyno trip in the next couple weeks.
