Low mounted turbos, need some advice...
Low mounted turbos, need some advice... Ok, my turbos are low mounted. To low for gravity drain. Now whats more important when using a scavenge pump, ....keeping the pump low so the oil doesnt have to be pumped "up hill"..or, keeping the pump mounted high so thats there is a "down hill" grade for the oil going back to the motor??
As of now, my lines coming out of the turbos go uphill to the pump and the oil drains "down hill" into the timing cover. Its about a 1 1/4" grade where the line comes out of the pump down to the timing cover.
I have people telling me I cant have the pump mounted high because the extra oil in the line is draining back into the turbo when I shut the car off.
Would leaving the car run 15 seconds or so to pump the extra oil out of the lines work? What should I do in the situation?
