Default Site supporting shops in Houston???

I need to find a good shop in the Houston area to install a D1sc and tune it on a 99TA. Normally MTI does all my work but rumors are, they are not working on F-bodies anymore so.......

Whats another shop with a GOOD reputation that are good tuners on FI?

(Besides Strictly Performance and G-Force)

Yeah LME and LMR are here. LME is mainly an engine shop, LMR is mainly a race/fab shop etc....(aka. no tuning, no dyno etc).

Today talking to a local Speed parts shop, I was recommended to PSI Motorsports. They are mainly a Ford shop but apparently the owner is pretty damn good at tuning LSX cars to...They said he has spit out several 600+rwhp LS1 cars. Might hit them up.

Just do a search on the sponsors page to the right. Id personally stick to the shops that work on the LSx motor.

Anyone know if MTI has closed down? Their website is just cars for sale, no performance parts online or anything. Wondering if they are not doing work anymore or closed down all together?

FAAAACKKK I gotta find a GOOD shop, especially on the tuning. This thing is gonna have 60lb injectors WITH a big cam so.....the tuner needs to know WTF he is doing...

Actually our dyno is on the way. We are way more that a race/fab shop. It may have taken awhile for us to get our dyno, but it will be paid for in full. We don't want to be like alot of other shops that are swamped with debt.

If they "normally do all your work" why don't you call them and confirm the "rumor." Just checking.

Wrong, MTI in houston closed there doors.

Ajrothm, give me a call at the shop when you get a chance. We have built and tuned everything from 600rwhp-2500hp forced induction applications. I will be able to get you taken care of.

LMR is by far the top LSX base shop here in Houston; I was once a MTI customer and followed Josh Ledford to his new adventure at LMR. I can see why you think they are mainly a race shop due to the fact a lot of their street cars are putting down the power of a race car. But don't over look them has a shop that works on street application LSx cars. They have turned out tons of FI LSx cars putting down high HP and great drivability.

They have gotten my SS back on the road with making 600rwhp/550rwtq (On Motor) and Great drivability... and will be adding a FI very soon

I DID call them....several times, left messages for David, never got a call back. Went to their website and its basically a used car lot site now for modded cars. Doesn't appear to be open as a parts/shop anymore.

My bad about LMR, I didn't do any real research on them, I just went to their website and they had some KILLER looking sh*t in there but I guess I thought it was more like fab and chasis work, not really the nickle and dime stuff I need.....Mainly tuning on a stock motor, Procharged w/60lb injectors, big cam(MS3) that I want to run as close to stock-like around town as possible. I don't have the blower yet, probably early next year. I did just dump $3k on a 9" and driveshaft though....

Thanks for all the info guys....I will hit up LMR and talk shop with em.

The guys at LME can take care of you they have definately been putting out some awesome cars a dyno will really help them out....

Urban Legend...yup still a douche! I'm sure a big reason that MTI got out of the performance biz is so that they didn't have to deal with idiots such as yourself. It wasn't for a lack of money coming in trust me....

When do you think you guys will have your dyno ready? I am gonna need a D1sc kit installed and tuned but probably not till after the first of the year. Gonna have to be able to tune 60lb injectors along with a MS3 cam to idle and low speed fine with the AC on.....daily driver style...
