Default cutting radiator support to make room for intercooler pipe

i have a question regarding the radiator support on our (fbody) cars. Would it hurt the structural rigity of the frame if i notched the support in front of the radiator? I am only doing this to make room for a 3" intake charge pipe to go up and over the radiator. Before i do this tho, i do drive this car on the street still, so would it be a bad idea?

This is what i am trying to do

thanks to quick01ss for the pic!

notice how the sheet metal brace in front of the radiator is notched to make room for the intake piping, so would this cause problems if driven on the street? Thanks for the replies guys.

I think you'll be fine with that,a lot are cut much more than that without any problems.

I agree. I also plan on cutting mine, but to stand the radiator up.

I have cut mine, and it doesn't too feel bad. It feels a little looser on the front, but that could be because I took the front sway bar off at the same time.

^^^ I saw your pics while i was searching around.. That looks badass! It seems that most just chop the support off totally, and reweld some sort of bar in its place when moving the radiator forward. but right now i just want to notch the support in that spot to run the 3" pipe.

The radiator you used in the pics above... how tall is it? Taller than the stock one? Right now my stock radiator sits a little high for my liking, and i also have my ac so that is just a little less room in that area
