you can build boost @ the line w/o a 2-step... here is how.

first off you don't want to hold the gas at a steady RPM, what you need to do is bounce the rev's somewhere between 40-70% throttle, maybe more, maybe less depending on your setup. you'll have to experiment to see what works best for you but that should be a good place to start.

As far as RPM goes, I like to be somewhere above where peak TQ is in the power band. the reason is because when you launch, and the car hooks, it will bog down on you. if you're around peak tq it will help keep the nose up. so for example, if you are seeing peak torque @ 4000RPM try to bounce the rev's between 4k - 4.5kRPM.

when the tree drops you want to time it as to be coming down on the gas at the same time you are coming off the clutch. so when you are WOT you should be off the clutch 100%. don't side step or dump the clutch, use it like a fuse to keep the nose up threw 1st gear.

hopefully that makes sense as its a difficult thing to explaine to someone but very easy to show them in person.
try it out next time and report back with your results.

That works......but its not easy. Its how we use to launch old school turbo bikes too. You basically have to work them real hard, get lucky, and pray alittle. Some people are very good at it, a rear mount makes it harder to impossible, cause you really need to retard the timing as well on a rear mount to get heat in it.

I built 5 psi on the twin rear mount last night in 100 degree heat with probably 30% humidity with a da of probably 6000 ft....using the lpe step.

it does work, I wouldn't waste my time typing all that out if it didn't. I've done it on a couple of different setups personally (FWD & AWD) and coached a few different people with good results (RWD,AWD & FWD).

its really not that hard to do IMO. Timing, as in coordination between the left and right foot, is key though.

if your rear mount setup is "laggy" use more throttle.

i'll agree that pulsing the engine can help "spin" the turbo up. When i had a 5 speed in my stang i would let the clutch out so it just starts to engage (to prevent shocking the drivetrain) and hold the revs at 5K, and as i released the clutch i planted the throttle to the carpet. mid 1.5 60's were the result. i do realize you guys are saddled with heavy cars, lots of power and toothpick rear ends..... atleast Ford did that part right. i've been 1.52 60' off the t-brake with my auto on stock axles
