The D1 requires a different bracket assembly than the common P-1SC/D-1SC blowers do.
Here is a chart that shows the different model specifications.

D1 is engine oil lubricated, little bit higher step-up ratio, and oh holy crap is it loud!

D1sc is a P1sc that has a bigger pair.

After looking at the chart it seems to me that the d1 is closer to a f1 than it is a d1sc.So is the d1 capable of much more power than a d1sc?

D1 is capable of more than a D1sc. I would agree with the statement that the D1 is closer to an F1. That being said, the D1sc is a very diverse little supercharger. While not an all-out race blower, it will happily feed a wicked street 302, a mild 454, an insane 4.3, and many other apps.

The D1 was developed as a huge step above the old P600B. At the time there was the P600B with its radial impeller, and the P1200B with a helixed impeller. When the D1 hit it was a massive leap forward. The D1 transmission was (and is) much more robust than the P600B. It's gears were selected more for ultimate strength and little consideration for being quieter...thus its freaky loud ring as it's running. The D1 has a massively overbuilt transmission for a 9" compressor housing. I have a great deal of respect for the capabilities and strength of the D1, more than I will usually reveal.

Similarly, the D1sc is an extension of the P1sc. Certainly a step forward and capable of more power/airflow. The F1 even more of a leap forward than the D1 was.

Remember, the D1 is an engine oil fed supercharger. While it works well, keeping the engine oil heat out of the supercharger allows it to run a bit cooler. Plus, it makes the setup and install a little easier when you don't have to make a hole in your oil pan for the oil return.
