Depends on what you're going to be doing with the car 502 in a 3rd gen with appropriate tranny and rear end, 8-71 or 6-71 blower, dual carb, ported heads, appropriate cam, you can make an 8 second car

Default Re: 502?

well I'm doin some research on that myself with my 2000 tahoe in the next few weeks.

I have one of these

and then i have these a recently rebuilt P1SC, and a brand new F1 that I was gonna run on a built smallblock

I also have an accel Gen 7 DFI system ready to figure all this junk out under boost down the road. of course I'm waiting at least 2 weeks till my tranny is here so I can't offer too much help, but I'm optimistic, one of the rags took a 454 crate engine (less power out of the box) added 7 lbs and were doing well over 700 hp, cam and a better intake (was carbed) 780 hp. I'll be more than content with 750 hp in a 5300 lb truck, this is supposed to be teh trailer vehicle anyway....can't ahve the trailer vehicle faster than the race car, ya know? I want streetable and don't want to cut the hood, but dammit that 502 would look beautiful with an 8-71...
