Default K member question need help quick

I was under the impression that you would be able to jack the trans/engine up enough to remove the pan, obviously not the case.

What is the easiest way to drop the k member. Remove the tires and support the engine/trans by a jack and lower the k member?

A quick rundown would be greatly appreciated. I've seen people say just remove the 6 bolts, what 6 bolts? Need some assistance quick. Also the fitting for my drain line is I believe a 3/8 - 18NPT so I got the tap and the 9/16 drill bit to go along with it.

All right, well I found the 6 bolts and lowered it down, but its still not low enough to get the pan out in conjunction with jacking up the motor and trans. What the hell?

You need to jack the motor up a bit. If you have an Automatic you should be able to jack it up a few inches.

Did you remove the 2 bolts that go through each motor mount?

I finally just unbolted the hole thing and the only thing that is holding it is the ps lines now. I gave up. I'll be able to get some painting done now. Just going to paint it gloss black since no one carries a green close to my color that I could find.

We swapped a rod & piston in a 99 SS with the engine still in the car where I work. We removed the intake & coils and then lifted it up and supported it with an ingine support we have that sits on the front aprons (inner fenders) & chains to the motor.
