Fuel pump problem
Fuel pump problem I was driving on the highway, hit a bump and the car just died.
I tried starting it nothing, then the battery died
Had my brother come down and jump start it and nothing.
Finally, pulled the carpet back and checked if the fuel pump was coming on, it wasn't.
I unplugged the connector plug then back in nothing, got mad pounded on the pump and it came back on, drove it home
What could it be, I'm thinking the plate I had covering it was vibrating agaist it or something.
Is their some kind of safety feature that shut off the pump when tapped?
I'm going to pull it out again and check the connection.
Does that black sensor on the top of the pump ever go bad?

Re: Fuel pump problem What fuel pump are you using? Or what fuel mods have you done? If you have replaced the wiring in the tank, I'd say to check the connections in there. It really sounds like you just have a loose wire in there. Perhaps your ground is loose?
Re: Fuel pump problem I'm using the Walbro 340 everything else is stock.
I pulle the pump out today and everything looked good.
I found out it has something to do with the plug on the top of the housing.
I cleaned the plugs out and used electrical greese, it running so far
I believe it had something to do with panel I used to cover the hole, I think it was rubbing when I hit hard bumps in the road.
