Default boost-a-pump and Racetronix Question

I am installing a racetronix pump kit for a 98 fbody and a MSD boost-a-pump. Its suppost to be plug and play. I will say the Racetronix set up is killer. It did not come with the wiring instuctions. It did come with intructions for the fuel pump set up. I was battleing with where to mount the MSD Boost-a-pump module. The instructions for the MSD BAP had you connect the power wire and the ground wire to the pump. I wanted to mount the module in the front. this ment I would have to run four large wire from front to back. I did not want to have all that busyness. So I went to the web site and pull up racetronixs picture of a BAP hook up. I hooked it up just like they had it there. All I did was hook it up to the power wire that is going to the relay in the rear. This will Boost the voltage on that line as the Module commands it. My only concern is I did not hook up the ground Side to the fuel pump. My guess is that the Gound will not make a difference. MSD probably just has you hook that up to be sure you have a good ground to the pump. The ground is good to the pump thanks to Racetronixs wiring kit. If anyone has experence with this please let me know. I also did not use a relay on the BMP. It Drew less than 5 miliamps. It did draw more right when it was connected but went down very quick once the caps charged up in the unit. I could hook a relay to it but on racetronixs site there is no relay. I just didn't want to complicate things to much. after I Complete all I will perfrom a parasitic load test on the car to be sure I will not have a draw problem.
If anyone has some information or comments please respond.
Thanks Darren

The booster is meant to plug into the special connector after the relay. The extra connector assembly is included in the system so that the booster becomes PnP with the entire system. The booster should be located under the trunk / as close as possible to the connection keeping the wires as short as possible (12"). One ground wire from the booster should be hooked up to the same location as the harness ground / relay as shown in our ads. It would be a good idea to solder this terminal and apply the supplied grease to prevent corrosion.

This is for the LT1 put pretty much the same as the LS1.

The picture in our LS1 ad shows the booster interface before the relay which is not a the current / proper configuration.

If you want quicker answers to these and other questions pertaining to Racetronix product we encourage you to contact your dealer or support@racetronix.com
