Default fuel pump or regulator bad?

I have had a racetronix pump for about 3 years.. I installed braided lines with a front mount regulator about a year ago.. when i first installed it i noticed if i turn the key on then back off it would jump to 60psi then fall back down pretty quick.. before it help 60 for several hours.. well i started having some problems cranking the car aand was too busy to really look into..

now it take several time turnin on the key to get enough fuel pressure to crank the car without it spurting.. once driving if i get if a little gas the pressure drops to about 30.. also when it tank is low it cant get anymore than about 40psi..

im thinking fuel pump.. but wondering about why the pressure bleeds down on crank as well.. pump just has never been able to fill the lines?

Depending on the brand of regulator, it can bleed pressure quickly.

If it suddenly got worse, I would consider looking at the fuel hose you used in the tank. If you used standard EFI hose, it does not last too long.

I am having a similar problem also. Car wouldn't start so we took a cap off the fuel rail to see if it was full of fuel and it wasn't. Turned of ignition and turned back on and let the pump turn on and the fuel rail filled with fuel and car started. My tank is sumped with an external aeromotive 1000 pump and aeromotive fpr. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge just an af gauge. Fuel line into tank is a -10 black high pressure fuel line. My mechanic at my shop is not super experienced with this type of fuel system, but I think he will figure it out. My FPR was replaced about a year and a half ago and only has 3000 miles on it fuel pump only 5k miles on it. What the best way to go about ruling things out?
