How do you remove the EVAP system?

Does anyone know how to remove the EVAP system? What are the downsides to this? I've seen posts on it before, but I can't find them with the Search feature. I want to do this to mainly clean up the engine bay, and a little weight reduction can't hurt. Anyone know?

I just unhooked everything, capped off the holes and programmed it out. I haven't had any negative effects that I know of.

How far back did you remove everything? I heard somebody say you need to drop the tank to get everything.

I think on newer models there is something in the tank. I have a 98 and I had a canister in my rear fender well area. I switched over to a CAS tank so it was all getting ripped apart anyhow.

i removed the stuff up front and the hard line to the back, and let what was conected to the hard line 'vent'

All I did was unhook it at the intake, cap the hole and the same back at the tank. I had to edit out the codes or I would get the ses light.

How hard was it to remove the fuel line all the way to the tank? It looks like it wouldn't be fun.
