Leaded gas
Hey guys, i'm heaidng to the track tomorrow to test out my new NX kit. Since i'll be making a few runs on the 150 shot, I want to be on the safe side. Now, i've heard that leaded gas can be hard on 02s and cats, but i'm only planning on running a 5 gallon 50/50 mixture of some 93 and maybe 112. Should I be ok? My local shop is all outa unleaded stuff.

It WILL coat the O2's & degrade them ,maybe to the point where they are too slow & cause problems & codes.
It also coats the catalyst's & will decrease their efficency as well & the same possibilites of related codes .
I would never put any leaded gas in an EFI closed loop feedback O2'ed car.

its not nearly as bad as some people are making out to be. will it eventually fry the o2's? yes. will it kill cats? yes. my guess is most people who are even trying leaded gas dont have cats and the o2's last longer than you think. ive run a mixture of leaded gas this entire year without a single problem. will they eventually go...sure, but its honestly not going to be a big deal. if you run one nights worth of leaded gas its doubtful it will harm a thing.

They degrade normally with use,add something known to coat the porcelin on the O2's, that is asking for it.
The PCM needs the fast reaction time to properly control fuel.
A coated with whatever O2 will not react as quickly.
It will effect LTFT & STFT.
If it gets slow enough, a poor O2 performance code will result.
If it's a race car who cares but your driver?
