Question 42#ers for a H/C car?

Well I ran into a real buy on some used Racetronics 42s. Very low mileage from a trusted individual.
Car= 00 Formula A4/ST3800/3.42 3550 race weight
Ported LS1 heads, 228/236-.588/.578 cam, LSx intake, Dynotechs/merge collectors, electric Wp, all the valve train upgrades, oil pump, timing chain
My questions are:
1. Will these be ok with the otherwise stock fuel system?
2. Will they give a lot of tuning problems? The car will be dynotuned with LS1 edit.

TIA

They will work but that is a lot of injector for your set-up. I have been running Bosch white 36lb injectors for 3 years and have made many n/a mid 10sec passes without a problem.

If I were to shop for new injectors 36s were on my list. But I can get these 42s for a bit less than the 36lbers. That's why I was asking if they would work or not.

As said above they will work....but they will be overkill, and will take a significant amount of tuning from someone who knows what they are doing to make work. Read EZSS' thread about the problems with his JPR motor. I think that his problems were from fuel-wash in the cylinders from a bad tune and too big of an injector.

I have an extra set of 36's if you are interested. The price would be good.

Tom,
Can you PM or e-mail me the price? I'm very interested as I've not bought the 42#ers yet.

For a H/C car I would go FMS 30's.

Thanks!

Tuning for the injectors is relatively easy. Just multiply your Injector Flow Rate table. I'd multiply by 165-170% across the entire table as a starting point,

I agree with the others in saying that if you're just a heads/cam car, a 36# injector (30# SVO) is more ideal for you. You can usually find used sets around for 150-200.

If I'm not going to get the 42#ers for $225 then wouldn't I be better off getting the 30#ers in this add?

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=199774

I confused as to what I really need vs what I could get by with vs what would be best.

Bosch 30#s are listed for $229.95 in the C4 section. These would work in a LS1 right?

I am looking for injectors for a TEA stg 2 5.3 and cam with between 228 and 232 on the intake side. These would seem to be the right size?

I am leaning toward the Bosch a friend had some SVOs fail.

Hey Lamar,

30# SVO's *are* Bosch injectors. At Summit (last time I checked) they were $219.

-Andrew (ran SVO 30# red tops on the LT1 car, and currently running them on my LS1 car no probs )
