Strange pump issue
OMG! This is rather frustrating for me. Before getting flamed in case this has been a problem for others; I did search the web and this forum and the web and asked my other car buddies and searched all avenues I could think and were available to me. So here's the problem...
I have a 2000 Formula Firebird that won't start. I initially thought it was the fuel pump so I replaced it, strainer and filter. It ran fine from my friend's garage to my place until I took a large speed bump a bit too fast and the car died, (I have lowering springs and SLP long headers that come slightly below the rest of the car and the bump hit the headers.) I turn the ignition on and all of the gauges work right except the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge flickers quickly and remains in it's off position, (well under empty) even though I know there is apx. 3/4 tank of gas. There is no pressure at the fuel rail, the fuse is good for PCM and Fuel pump and the pump makes no sound when it should prime.
I'm pretty good with mechanical stuff, but not so good with electrical problems and would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.
