Magnafuel pump broken???

Magnafuel pump broken??? So tonight I wired up my pump as per magnafuels instructions and went to test it and alls I heard was a click inside the pump. After trying it to or three times I then applied direct power to the pump and still got the same result. Just a click inside the pump like youd hear from a relay.

They told me to take it apart to check for debris so I did and spun the gears by hand..didnt see anything in there put it back together and just for ***** applied power to it and it worked again...any ideas? They said I could either send it in to have it looked at or just try it and see if it happens again. Something really small could of gotten in there and when I spun it by hand freed it up maybe?

It locked up again. When I took the cover off the retainer is metal and it seemed like it might be too big..if I put the cover on and and tighten the bolts it works..as soon as I tighten them now(and just enough to seal) the pump locks...
