Stock Plastic Fuel Lines

Stock Plastic Fuel Lines I have a 1995 Z28 so it has the stock Plastic Lines with the little metal quick-connects on the end of them.
Can you cut the line and heat it up with a good Heat Gun and re-install the quick connects?
I'm wanting to shorten the lines to re-route how I have the Fuel System setup in my car.
Has anyone done it this way..I don't see why it wouldn't work..

you're suppose to heat them in a liquid, dry heat will just melt and distort them..at least that's my experience, yours may vary...There is a special install tool kit out there for those lines but's it's like $300
