Default Fuel pump issue

I just got back from Iraq and I got my car fired up. It ran great fir a couple hours, then started sputtering out. Well it got to the point where it would die, then after a couple minutes it would fire up and drive for a min, then die again.

I listened closely when it would die and I heard the pump kinda sound like a muffled grinding noise for a min or 2 when I turned the key on, then eventually if would make the typical wine it should.
Also the pump is sending air in the lines when it makes the grinding noise.

The pump is a Walbro 255, I had stabil in the gas and everything. I already pulled the sending unit out, inspected it and everything was intact.

I'm planning on getting another 255 to replace it, if anyone has any idea why it's putting air in the lines feel free to chime in.

Thanks.

First, welcome back.
Second, do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so, what does it read?
