i got a 1998 trans am and the fuel pump went bad on it i bought a welbro pump but everything is rusted in the pump so im trying to replace the whole thing.

are all fbodies fuel pumps the same 98-02?

will a 99 fuel pump fit a 1998?

what else should i learn about this and what else should i do?

99-02 are the same
98 is different & will not work properly in the 98 tank.

If your sender is badly rusted, look for a good 98 sender core at a junkyard or ebay & I can set you up with a new performance pump kit to correctly fit the sender.

thats the thing i only got 300 bucks and the mechanic told me that i need to replace the pump completely
