Default Fuel pressure regulator????

I am looking at a diagram for my 1998 z28 and it shows that the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail just over the intake manifold, but i just got off the phone with JEGS and they keep telling me that it is in the tank.. Could SOMEBODY please tell me where this thing is at???

The regulator is in the tank - JEGS was right.

Not 100% sure about the F-Bodys but the vettes went returnless in '99. the regulator is in the tank for all returnless systems and is not adjustable.

The piece on the fuel rail is a pulsation dampener. Parts people call it a regulator to sell more of them when people start throwing parts at fuel problems. I think the above responses are correct. It's in the tank.

The system still has a return...it is just in the back by the fuel filter instead of being up at the rails.

awesome, you guys gave me some good info. but the manifold i have doesnt have the pulsation dampener, so could that have anything to do with why the pressure is dropping so low when i hit the gass??

I'm not sure...mine would drop pressure very consistently under load with the regulator in the tank even with the damper on the stock rails in place.
