wierd fuel pump problem...need help
wierd fuel pump problem...need help hey guys, so last week i was on the highway heading to work in 6 gear cruising and my car died, i was like wtf and pulled over. tried to start it and it fired right up. made it home fine and then the a couple days later i was going down my road and same thing happend and fired right up again and ran fine the rest of the day. then i go to fire it up on friday night and it started thn stalled and i couldnt hear my fuel pump pumping. figured my pump was bad so i pulled the pump out and just for fun i test it and it works fine so back in it goes and i check my relays/fuse and their good. start the car and it fires right up, i get halfway down my driveway and it dies again, the pump will pump and run for about 2 minutes then shut off. what do you think is my problem? when a pump goes, it just dies right? could it be a bad ground?

Im in a similar situation. My car runs ten minutes and dies, starts back up and runs good, then dies again. Ive gone over almost everything. Its a 94 Lt1 with a walbro 255 and hotwire btw.

try hookin a fuel pressure gauge up to the fuel rail and see if you get pressure and holds or if it bleeds off.. while it sits or while it is running. when you tested the pump did you test for pwr and ground at the pump?

i just hooked the battery charger up to it and it pumped. my dad had a similar problem and it was the fuel pump just getting weak. i ordered a 255 walbro so hopefully it fixes it.
