Default Would this work?

Going in 99 corvette. Thinking of rewiring the factory connectors to allow two +12v sources to enter the terminals orignally for positive and negative for single pump, then ground the pumps internally..

Would that work?

The reason I want to do this is to be able to run one pumped switched via hobbs, I know I can just run both pumps parallel with the wires spliced internally but I would rather doit this way for a more efficient setup.

Thanks

No you need a good chassis ground the tank is not. And yes always switch the second. Running both all the time will over heat the fuel causing cavitation and premature pump failure.

How are the stock hanger corvette guys running their wires then. Do they use a new sealed connector with 6 terminals compared to the stock units 4? I'd like to know how they do it.

I know I could splice the wires to feed both pumps internally, but then the pumps would run all the time.

I even noticed that the factory grounds from pump and power connector ground internally.

So does anyone else have an opinion on this?
