Default 12.5 volts to low?

I've searched and can't find much, does anybody know how many volts I should be getting to my pump, I've got an inline that I'm fixing to take out and install a 255 but from what i can find I need 13.5 volts and I'm only getting around 12.5, I just don't want to get a new pump and not be getting the proper voltage to it. thanks

12.5 is system voltage if your pulling heavy gauge relayed wire off the alt. you might have more voltage which is good.
