ls1 injectors I just picked some up off a member here and on the tip of the injector right next to the gasket one of them the faded skinny red ring is missing. Can this affect anything? Thanks
First, set your camera to close ups by pushing the distance button until the flower pops up
Next, thats the pintle cap and is easily replaced, just snap a new one on. NAPA carries them along with pretty much any injector service/sales company
You need that to keep the seal on the injector. If you dont, it will fall off and get sucked into the engine when under heavy vacuum i.e. idle, then cause a massive vacuum leak. Since you're already messing with them, it'd be a good idea to replace all the O-rings too
