What are the power limits of the stock returnless system? At what point will a person need to switch to a return system?

Somwhere around 700rwhp, the pressure will become unstable due to the regulator being mounted in the fuel tank. Also if forced induction, you will likely want boost reference your fuel pressure to maintain your injector flow.

At this time you should consider a front mount regulator & return line at a minimum.
