I am trying to decide on which way to go with my fuel system.
With the CAS rising rate FP reg, I know it has an inlet/outlet and a return fitting on it. Can I block off the return fitting on the FP reg, if I had a return line from the fuel rails to the tank? Or do I have to run a return line for both(fuelrail and FP reg)
Thanks,
Jeremy

First off I would be warying about the CAS reg. I originally ordered one and then cancelled when I got abslutely horrible customer service. I went with the Aeromotive unit and it is a stout piece. That being said I'm a little confused by your question.
Your stock reg is in your tank. We have a returnless system. What some do is to run a braided fuel line to the fuel rails and then run the return line through the old stock steel supply line. Least that's the way I did it. Now I have my braided line going into the passenger side rail, then a cross over to the drivers side, then from there I go to the reg. Then I have a rubber fuel line for my return and that goes into the old steel line. The reg will have to sit on the fuel line somewhere.
Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

Good to know about the CAS customer service thanks for the heads up
On the CAS reg, there is a inlet/outlet ports and a fuel return port, I want to know if I could block(close off) the return outlet with the way PD has the fuel system set up.
My ol Powerdyne fuel system is set up almost like yours. They utilize the stock feed line into the rails as a return line. The new feed line goes to the schreader valve port with the FMU
inbetween the main feedline and the schreader port. I want to replace the FMU as they are very unreliable and wanted to put the adj FP reg. in the place of the FMU.
Since the rail already has a return( old LS1 feedline) I was wondering if I could block the return outlet on the adj FP reg. On the CAS unit it looks to be the bottom outlet. Being that the rails already have a return going back to the tank with the PD fuel sys.
I think I am confusing myself now lol. If you can sort through that I am sure you can see where I am going. I am better at visualizing how things work then explaining stuff with pen, paper or keyboard.
On a side note, how do I take the stock regulator out from the sending unit. I already have an access panel cut from when I did the racetronix plug and play set up so I just have to pop out the panel and pull the whole assembly out. What does the stock FPR look like, pics would be great.
Thanks for the help sorry for the confusing post

Here is the return line. On the inside of that line you'll find the stock fuel reg.
As far as inlet and outlet ports I'm not exacty sure how there's is set up. But most likely you can cap off the outlet. That or run the reg before the rails, then you don't need to cap off the outlet.

Cool Thanks for the pics Mike, I see you did the "access" panel with silicone sealant too
I have a 98 so my lines are a little different from yours but I am sure I can find it. How did you take it out of commission(stock FP reg) just take it out?
Sorry for all the questions.
IS this the Stock FP REG?

Yep, that looks like it. All I did was opened mine up and removed the internals. Later on I cut the entire thing out, but that was not neccessary.
Might ant to double check with a 98 driver just to be on the safe side. But at some point you got to trust your gut, and I'd say you got the right part.

Ryan, its a quality piece throughout, they didn't skimp on anything as I am sure you can see with your kit. Its a shame it has to be put where it can't be seen. As for how it performs, we will see once I get everything with the cog set up worked out. I am sure I will run out of injector before I run out of pump. I've had it on the car for about 15000mi with the stock LS1 and ATI D1-SC running the occasional shot of N2O and it always handled it nicely, no whining or fuss.
Mike, thanks guess I will be removing it then. Any 98 drivers concur with Mike that this is indeed the FP reg just to be on the safe side?

Yeah it is Jeremy
I think I am having problems with mine (00 T/A). Fuel pressure is low even after installing a Walbro pump.
I went to the dealership to see if I could buy the part individually but the parts guy told me I had to buy the whole module ($409). He brought out the FPR for the V6 F-bod and it looks exactly like the piece in your pic.
I just finished yanking it out to see if thats whats causing my low pressure problem.
Dropped, modified and hooked up the tank in under an hour. I am getting good at this!

$409
gotta love these Albuquerque Specials huh? I paid 50 bucks for stock valve seals for my 6.0 heads at Quality Pontiac, I latter found them on the net for half that price
For a quote on the nice new dent in my rear quarter panel they said it would be 1000+ bucks at Garza Paint and Body
Are you dropping the tank?!!? IF YOU ARE YOU ARE INSANE
, I just cut a panel for access, makes things easy. I hope you get it figured out. It sucks when the car isn't running right.
Cool and thanks for the confirmation on that guys, that will be coming out pronto(well when the UPS dude shows up the the adj FPR)

38's for now, but I think they will run out, and I will have to move up to the 42.5's
I am going to dyno with VP motorsports 103 just to be safe.
I've been eyeing those too, hopefully I won't need something that big up here in the thin air.
