Default ls1 on gen 1 sbc

hey everyone,
new to the site, I DID try to find info on the site about my situation prior to posting this and haven't had much luck... I have an 84 body, will be dropping a gen 1 sbc in it with a decent amount of work and a pretty agressive cam... im tired of running and tuning carbs and tired of getting 7 mpg on stock 307 while going down hill with the wind behind me.... i have heard of people taking the 2000'ish f-body ls1 computer/wiring harness/fuel set up and running it on gen 1 motors with the right distributor and other small changes to mount crank position censor and other small stuff..... can anyone give me any info/advice/tips on this? leaning towards using auto trans. has anyone done this in a g-body? how much power can the ls1 computer handle?

I know it's done on gen2 lt1 motors. On a gen1 sbc prolly make more sense to use MSII system instead of LSX pcm

i think it is world products that makes the ls heads to mount on the old sbc. then there was a company that was making the rest of the kit for the ignition to work. they did it on horsepower tv awhile back.

Wasn't it the block they made to fit the Lsx heads while retaining all the acessory mounting points and what not of a gen 1 SBC (Basically a Gen 1 block made to fit the lsx heads). Not the other way around?

ok but either way what im really looking to do is take and ls1 computer and engine harness and mount it to a old motor... from what i understand all i need is a distributor from an lt1 to get the cam position sensor working and use a valve chain cover from a lt1 for the crank pos. sensor(check me on that one) and change some things around on the wiring harness and get the comp flashed to delete certain things like no dig. guages and no emission and some other things... has anyone ever heard of any of this... or im i just crazy
