Small leak at fitting... Tape?

Small leak at fitting... Tape? I was told you can use the white thread sealant tape as long as you keep it back a couple threads.
I did and it's leaking. Maybe I should have loaded it up a bit more?? (lol) The fitting didn't thread all the way in, but I guess it's normal as just a pipe thread fitting and not a compression or o-ring seal.
ideas?

Where's the fitting? Pictures?
If it is a pipe thread fitting, teflon tape or paste is the only thing that will get it to seal. If it isn't, you either need more, or you need to switch to something like an AN 37* flare or o-ring boss type fitting that creates are more positive seal.

^ Ahh.. It's the pass rail that's leaking. I reached my hand in back and felt that the back plug is a little damp as well. The tape was discolored when I had it off for an injector swap.
I've never like pipe thread fittings for that application, but since you are stuck with it, I'd just try wrapping a little more tape around the threads and tightening the fitting as much as you feel comfortable doing. Lots of people get those fittings to work, and yours shouldn't be any different.
