Injectors not opening at 60psi...?
What would cause the injectors not to open at 60 psi, but works fine at 43 psi?
The injectors will not fire at 60 psi, but if i turn down the pressure til 43 psi they work fine. The injectors are Delphi 50 lb high impedance, ECM and wiring harness is from a 1999 LS1 Camaro. Trying to tune with HpTuners.
The only thing that comes to mind is a voltage issue at the injectors so there is not enough "power" to overcome the pressure?? Any thoughts???
I have not been able to measure the voltage because the engine is a friend of mine's and he is quite far away from me...
This is a custom install of LS1 electronics on an GenI engine (using the EFI Connection reluctor kit).
Any input is appreciated!!

Haha!! Sorry when i saw the title, I almost KNEW that you would have 50lb injectors. Sorry for laughing but the same thing happened to me. The 50lb injectors are not made to run that much pressure, they just shut down. You need to sell those and get a 60lb injector. Ford guys dont run as much pressure as LS1's so a lot of them use those injectors with no problems, so try selling them on a mustang forum or something...
I chased this problem for weeks on the dyno before we figured out that they were the injectors.
I had the EXACT same injector as you. Theres nothing wrong with them, just not made to go up to that pressure. hope that helps!

Well it helps somewhat, but I am still curious as to why these are constructed differently than the others? Why would they be different? I was under the impression that all high impedance injectors were more or less the same???
Maybe some of the vendors have some info on this?

The coils are just not designed to pull up the pintle against the Higher pressure
