The other line you are referring to in the stock configuration is the EVAP line...it runs from the fuel tank to the hard line, up to the front, into the flexible line, into the EVAP solenoid on the intake manifold, and into the intake manifold. The return on these cars stock is in the back by the fuel filter. The fuel that comes up to the front stays there until it is consumed by the engine - the pressure regulator is in the tank.

As for the size...no, it is not the same. The hard line that brings the fuel up uses 3/8" quick disconnects...the hard line for the EVAP uses 5/16" quick disconnects.

That looks good. Except I'm going to put a 45º or 90º fitting on the bottom connection, and do silver fittings with a black nylon braided line. I've pinched my stock line, so I need to do this pretty soon.

Im almost 100% sure you can buy the metal clip inserts from any parts store.

A 90* fitting will work fine for the bottom connection (that's what I have on mine for clearance), and if you delete the EVAP system, just make sure the tank is still vented. You'll have problems otherwise.

the more fittings you use the more money but it will look good. A 90deg for that will prob cost around 15 bucks

What causes problems? I've had 2 cars with EVAP just turned off in the PCM, and removed it from the engine bay, that's it. Never see any problems over the past 3 years that way..

I've been piecing this together online, the fittings are pricey but worth it. I'm just making sure to stay away from red and blue fittings. Everyone has them, and I think they are just tacky as hell too

What did you do with the hard line going to the engine bay? Cap it? Or did you just leave it open?

If the tank can't vent pressure, people will typically have problems getting the car to accept fuel from the pump at the gas station.

Yep, capped the intake manifold and the line in the engine bay. Never had an issue pumpin gas or anything else.

You can see both caps here, and the ugly fuel line that is getting replaced soon.

The line got super kinked taken the manifold off to put this new painted one on.. Look at the bend on the back, it's not supposed to bend that way

^ Nice! And OP; get Nylon, NOT rubber!

I had mine made locally to fit the length I needed. Also just need the -8 90* fitting, and a -6 (stock) quick disconnect fitting. Worked for me. I like the black fittings from jegs though. I'll prolly re-do all of mine soon.

Looks like this.

You did an -8 fitting? Why is that? I thought everything was -6?

Going to have a 45º off the bottom, into a straight connector on the rail, with a black quick connection fitting adapter. Don't like seeing all the flashy red and blue all the time. Should look really clean.

I forgot to order my tubing adapter on the hard line. Will be here later than the rest of my fittings

For future reference and anyone curious here is my list of parts to make a new fuel line, all with black hose and black/nickel fittings. There's many colors and brands to choose from also.

613093 - Russell 45º fitting for -6AN hose end (or use a straight or 90º fitting, your choice. I feel a 45º will work best)
632053 - Russell black nylon braided line. 3 ft
610023 - Russell straight fitting hose end
640853 - TWO Russell fuel line fitting adapters to 3/8" quick disconnect

I personally wouldn't recommend that line for fuel...the synthetic rubber inner liner will eventually degrade and start leeching fumes due to the additives in today's gas. Some people don't mind the fumes, but it gets a little overpowering, especially when kept in a closed-in garage.

Thanks for the input, but I know a few people who have used that exact line without issue, and did some research, never heard about that.

It doesn't happen immediately, but over time you might start to notice it. Just passing it along, because I'll be replacing all of this:

and all of the lines in the back by the fuel tank due to this issue. Buying the same **** twice is never fun.

I'll keep an eye on it, it's already shipped out

At least I got all the fittings, this small fuel line won't be bad to replace. I just didn't want a silver line. If there was a BLACK stainless line, I would have gone that way, but the only black hoses are nylon braided.

That's what I thought too. Thought it was -4 feed to a -6 crossover, but I looked thru a couple of my old posts to find that pic and I mentioned -6 and -8. I forget now.

These are the ones I want.

^ I like those red and black fittings, and really considered them, but they just won't flow in my engine bay.
