gas tank question
Hello,
Fitting a LS1 into a 65 impala. I have a gas tank from a 99 LT1 installed. Put in the proper fuel pump to get the necessary PSI.
The fuel tank has three hose connections on it. One is fuel return, one fuel to injectors and the other is vent. Should I hook this vent to a carbon can? I have a carbon can out of a older Camaro.
Will this can let me keep the car inside with less worry about evaporating fuel entering the building?
The can I have is marked fuel and carb. Other side is not marked. Currently the carb side is plugged.
Thanks for any suggestions.

On EVAP the vent valve is open when parked, actually it's open any time it is not in test mode. The '65 used a vented gas cap oem. The only concern should be to keep dirt out of it.

He might have mentioned about the gas cap thinking you were using the original tank. There has to be a vent either with a gas cap or to a carbon can or the pump with cause a vapor lock and will either starve the system or cause the gas tank to collapse. You need a vent of some kind. I would just run a hose to a carbon tank, or if you want to, put a small vent on the end of the vent hose close to the tank, anything to allow air to flow and keep dirt out.
