I want a sump tank but dont want to buy one and i have a plastic tank so no can do on welding one on...

Why cant I just run a line down in the bucket where the intank fuel pump would be and then mount a external pump under the car somewhere? Then up to a reg and use the stock feed line as a return

i was about to make a thread asking the same question. My idea was to use the stock bucket but somehow mount a fitting on the bucket and run a line through the bucket with some type of pickup on it. I have no intention of using the stock lines tho. 8an to a regulator at the rails... anyone done this? or is dual pumps in the bucket the regular go to?

The only stock line i would use is the stock feed line for my return... I dont really see why it wouldnt work cause it would puck up right from where your stock pick up would be.

Why to you want to re-invent the wheel? The 4th GEN. fuel pump module is one of the best setups available. If you want to re-place the pump, get a Walboro/Racetronix form one of the vendors who support these forums.

The problem is that external pumps do not like to suck fuel only push it.

It is best to gravity feed an external pump, meaning the line comes out of the bottom of the tank & the pump is mounted lower than the thank. The feed line should always be large with minimal restriction, like -8 or larger for even smaller street pumps.

Ah i sees, would the aeromotive stealth 340 pump be a good option? Would i have problems with the stock reg.? I have the racetronix kit right now so i would use the hotwire kit with the 340.

I am not trying to reinvent the wheel i am in need of more fuel for my turbo build and was looking for something cheaper than a dual pump setup.

You may have problems with the stock regulator & the tank wiring/bulkhead is not up to the task.

If you are looking to build a fuel system, give me a call. I can get you the correct parts the first time, with no experimentation required.

What about the 340 with the stock feed line up to a regulator then just use some bigger rubber line back to the tank and dump it back into the top of the bucket? Can you by pass the stock regulator using the stock feed line?

Yes the stock regulator is healed in place with a spring clip that is easily removed.
