Easy... unplug all the electrical connections, undo the clip that connects the main fuel lines to the rails, unbolt the 4 bolts and rock it out. Takes about twenty minutes to do.

I just did that myself... those bolts are 10mm. Be careful not to lose any rubber o-rings, when you pull the injectors out the intake and/or the fuel rail.

When I pulled my rails, only one injector had the o-rings intact. The other 7 top o-rings were stuck inside the rails. I took a small flat head and carefully removed them, I put some motor oil on them and re-installed.

what would happen if you did lose one of those o-rings and went ahead and put everything back on anyways? what would happen?

because my bf took the intake out of the car to check out his heads, and when he was through and put everything back together, he went to start the car and it was idling rough and when he revved up the car he thought he heard a clink/clanking sound....

he said the clanking really wasn't a fast paced thing...

could a 10mm socket fit under the intake valve if her perhaps dropped one in the car by accident... what would be the easiest way to found out if it did go under the valve besides pulling the heads off? or is that the only way?

he has double springs and it sounding like it was coming from the back of the motor he said...

he got one of those strong magnet tools that kinda looks like a pen and put it in each intake port and didn't get any shavings and looked at the intake with a mirror and checked them all out and he didn't see anything...

If you lost an o ring you would have a serious vacuum leak. The car would idle really rough if at all. Its an easy check, the injector will be able to be wiggled real easy if it missing a o ring from either top or bottom. Check em all. IF he is hearing "noise" after having the intake off, there is a real good chance that something fell into the intake port. Not good, especially if he didn't see something in the port. That could mean it went past the valve into the cylinder. Best way to check is to pull the heads that I know of. Didn't he cover the intake ports with tape or at least put clean rags or paper towels into the ports? Cleanliness is important when taking the intake off, blow the top of the engine off real good with air and when you get the intake off, get a shop vac and vacuum around where the intake sat.
Good luck...
