bad injector???
wats up ppl of ls1tech!!! i just joined ls1tech and feel its gonna be a smooth ride from here on out.
so down to the point. i just purchased a c5 and the darn thing never wants to fire up on the 1st try but always on the 2nd. i busted out the pressure gauge, hooked it up then primed the pump and the needle goes to about 58-60psi and IMMEDIATELY starts dropping down to zero. At the same time it drops down to zero i hear like a high pitch humming sound then stops right when the gauge reads zero. i busted out my volt meter, set it to about 2000 ohms (thats what the instruction manual i got said) and checked the injectors and they all are reading 14 except for the no.1 injector which is showing 18. not too sure what the numbers mean since im a noob to electrical stuff but suspect a problem if all injectors are showing the same number except for one. does that mean that the no.1 injector is opened at all times and is flooding the engine and causing fuel pressure to drop??? what you guys think? i need your help! thanks!!!

If rail pressure drops to zero that quickly, then it could be:
- leaky injector(s),
- leaky fuel pressure regulator,
- bad fuel pump assembly.
If you suspect a leaky injector, remove the spark plug and check if it is wet with gasoline.
If your C5 is after 1997, then your FPR is integral with your fuel filter, when did you last change the filter...?
