I have a 98 z28, 42lbs injectors, 255 intank pump and stock fuel lines. Oh yeah since the vehicle is a 98 i have the factory metal tank.
Car has about 11:1 compression on a heads and cam set up.
Can this set up be ran safely if I convert over to e85?

If not what would I need to change?

Your fine. Just get it tuned.

 

The 'technically correct way without cutting corners' is to drop your tank and clean it out to get rid of any fuel deposits that the alcohol would dissolve and end up clogging your fuel pump strainer and/or injectors; slight overkill, but safest would just get a new tank. Also replace all lines, especially internal submersible injection hose that is rated for E85 (PTFE). You should use a proper E85 rated fuel pump and fuel filters.

 

Don't wanna open a new thread so I'll put my question here. I have a 1998 Camaro 3.8l with a stock engine and injection system exept a adjustable fuel presure regulator. I'm running E85/Ethanol and fuel pressure set to 72psi( for a good air/fuel ratio).
I'm thinking about changing the stock fuel pump with a 255lph pump(just in case) but is there anything else I'll should change to support 72 psi?

I'm not searching for any performance just easy way to swich from E85 to gasoline(by adjusting the fuel pressure 72 or 42 psi).

 

You will need a new pump soon as the factory one was not designed to run at 72psi.

Even an aftermarket 255 will be stressed at a steady 72psi.

 

i agree with mr. fuel pump. i ran unleaded through my car for 11 years and switched over to e85 last year. the residue from the tank that the ethanol had cleaned out plugged my pump.

 

I swapped my fuel filters the first two tanks when i started using E85 3yrs ago.
The first filter was full of black residue.
I change my filter now every 6k miles.
