Default FAST fuel management

I hope this isn't out of the realm of fueling and injection but I was curious about the FAST system for a future project I'm contemplating. Obviously FAST would be more ideal for big power. What does this do in terms of the gauge cluster and the electronic transmission? Obviously it isn't going to control the two nor have the wiring for the sensors. The only thing I can figure is convert to Autometer gauges and a 700R4 or TH350/400 tranny. Someone let me know if my thinking is correct.

One LT1 buddy I have runs it as a piggyback so all of his gauges work.

I have an LS1, and right now my speedo does not work but I can go to a mechanically driven gauge.

If I went standalone I could ditch the pcm and harness but we'll see how we feel.

My buddy deals with AEM and they told him sometime this year they are coming out with a stand alone unit for LS1 cars. He is going to install it on my car as soon as it comes out. Funny how aftermarket ricer stuff is now going to domestic. not the other way around.
