LT1 stalls and dies sometimes
I installed a new fuelpump..
Fuelpressure okay, no codes
i made a bypass with the fuelpump running when i want.
car dies, connect fuelpump with power from bypass car is running fine.
ICM ignition control module?? Oilpressure sensor? (still shows in dash)
what else could it be??
seems heat related. everytime when car is cold it starts fine..
when engine hot it starts sometimes too, but there are days with stalling and shutting off
thanks
Greg
Lots of try this and try that but no one seems to write back what actually fixes the problem.
For me, the engine goes off like it was switched off. The tach falls right to zero even though the engine may still be turning. No check engine light. No idiot lights. Engine will turn but not fire. After waiting 3+ mins she will fire right up and often will run all day.
Has anyone who had a similar problem fixed it?
I had a fuel filter for a few years so I put that in. No help.
I used some spray to "clean" the ignition switch. No help.
I found one of the vacuum lines was cracked. Fixed the leak but that was not the main problem.
The next cheapest/easiest was the coil. I got a Duralast for $26 at Autozone. BINGO! The car runs fine. Better then it did in a while right up to redline.
