i just bought a 98 camaro z28, i was told the fuel pump took a crap. so when i got it home i replaced fuses and relays just to see if i could get lucky and nothing. so i tried jumpin the pump at the fuse box and nothing. so i went and bought a pump put it in, and hit the key and the pump still didnt turn on. so i went back under the hood and jumped it to see if it worked and the pump kicked on. so now im lost on what to do. i replaced the fuses and the relays and the pump and it still doesnt kick on by the key. any ideas on what it could be? the car does run and start with it hotwired and no check engine lights are on when the car is runing. any info/help would be very appreciated.

I had same problem and hotwired the pump as you did with good results. I fixed it by replacing the fuel relay with a GM part. The Pep Boys relays did not work(2). I replaced the workng GM part with the PB relay and got nothing. Put the GM relay back in and away we go.
