Default ls1 fuel pump question in swap

I have a question, I bought a new stock oem delphi pump from a 98-02 f-body to install in a lt1 tank, questions is, what is the brass looking nipple on the top of the pump for? is that to be hooked up to the oem regulator for the ls1 fbody tank? do I need to cap it off, leave it alone, or what? I wanted to be sure of what it was for before installing it open in the tank. also, this if for a lq4 build i'm doing in a 89 trans am.

any help would be appreciated.

That is to hook up to the venturi used in the 99-02 cars, designed to keep the bucket full.

That pump does not properly fit your car.

You can carefully crimp it off if you still want to use it.
