Default Did I get a defective AN fitting?

I am trying to get a fitting for my fuel rails that'll reduce an 8 AN to 6 AN, with swivel, so that I can properly orient my fuel pressure regulator. I found a Fragola 497208-BL that sounded correct. Says fitting size one is 8 AN female swivel, fitting size two is -6 AN male. Which is exactly what I need. However, when I received the part, the "female" 8 AN side had no threads in it, completely smooth. Am I completely missing the obvious about this fitting or was it manufactured incorrectly? There is no way to even hook a hose up to the female side - it does have the correct 37.whatever degree angle cut into it for connecting to a threaded male 8 AN fitting.

Yes, I would say you got a defective part. There should be threads inside that part.
