Yea I know this is a 2015 post. But I wanted to put the info out there. No one uses these pumps and they aren't that bad.

Always best to do your own tests and make your own conclusions IMO. To many people spout nonsense and have never had any experience with the "CHEAP CHINA JUNK". I tend not to listen to these types.

I paid a guy on here to test them... He sort of did, then disappeared with my pumps and fittings he was suppose to send back and never got back the final results. They actually did pretty well for a $23 pump! Not as good as a true 044, but impressive.

At 13.5v and 70psi they put out 5gpm VS an 044 at 7gpm. Also interesting they had a great pressure VS flow and did not drop significantly like most walbro style pumps. 3 pumps were set at 40 and then 100psi for 1 hour with no overheating or major problems. All 3 pumps were tested and 3% of each other in that hour time on his flow meters.

T-fiddler ran 2 of these pumps on his twin turbo build and was going 126+ in the 1/8th. So not bad for $46 worth of pump. I had planned to use 2 of them in parallel as a "booster" Then cruise around on an AEM400. So for $46 I'd have another 600g/hr of fuel on tap. And the pumps are only working while in boost, reliability isn't a huge issue.

To sum up above... 2 $23 knock offs in parallel flow about what 1 AEM400 flows ($150 pump).

ForceFed: Am I understanding that you run continuous duty IN-Tank pump for normal startup, cruise, mild accel, and have an INLINE fuel pump, basically passing fuel flow full time, and THEN power that inline pump up when boost reaches a certain point ?
Does that imply the inline 044 has very little flow restriction when NOT powered UP ?
WHat means or pressure switch do you use that is reliable to turn ON the inline BOOST pump ?
Assume you run heavy wire, and a stout relay.
What is a typical cut-in BOOST pressure for the inline pump ?
Do you see a spike in pressure while the regulator " catches up" or is it all pretty seemless ?
.' Thanks for the help.
Thinking of running a mild AEM340 IN the stock in tank bucket, with a HYDROMAT on the tank bottom, and then one inline filter, into a Bosch 044 inline boost pump, with a 75 amp Bosch relay, trn gauge wire straight from alternator output stud. Only wild card for me is what to use for normally open BOOST switch ? Cant find a Cole Hersee part number that will turn on at 3 or 4 PSI. Any kind of BOOST actuation switch will need to be 100% reliable.

What you describe will work. But most don't need the added pressure of an additional inline pump. It will up your available fuel, just not to the extent another like pump in parallel would. So you'd prob be better off just plumbing the 2nd pump in parallel. Some setups use inline pumps for ease of installation as well. But generally parallel is your best bet.

I'm not a a huge fan on the AEM340. You could just put a AEM400 in the tank. They are submersible as well. Then run an additional AEM400. I have my 2nd pump activation controlled with the ECU on all my setups. I just use anything greater than 50% TPS to trigger the 2nd pump. Also I setup fuel pressure and AFR safety systems. So in the event of a pump failure it *should* save the motor. That way you don't have ot be paranoid about a switch failing all the time. Though a simple stand pipe in the "fuel bucket" w 2 identical external inline pumps would be better. MUCH easier to trouble shoot and replace etc. Surge tanks well too.

FWIW I really like HOBBS pressure switches. In my experience they are very reliable. I used them to trigger METH kits for years and years on many different cars long ago and never had a failure. But a failsafe is always a good idea.
