Default fuel pressue question

Hey guys, I'm new to the LS scene, and I'm putting an Lq4 together with a stock short block, L92 heads, LS3 intake, and a mild street cam for my Nova. I am wondering if anyone can help me out with a suggestion of how much fuel pressure I will need to run, so I can plan my inline pump and injectors. Thanks in advance!

GM stock is 58psi/4bar. Most injectors are rated at 43.5psi/3bar.

Do you mean that the stock pump puts out 58psi? If that's the case, it really doesn't help me, as I can't run a stock pump in the tank of my '78 Nova. I am going to be running an external inline pump.

The stock setups gave a regulator on them that sends 58psi to the rail.

for my 69 Cutlass,my LQ9 had a regulator on the rails that regulates to 58 psi. I had to remove the rails cause I changed to LS6 intake(name dropper!).

I went with a Walbro 255 LPH inline fuel pump, and a corvette filter/regulator combo. You can buy this entire setup as a kit that comes with the -AN adapters required for really good prices.

Make sure to mount the Walbro(or whatever brand) BELOW the gas tank as these pumps will NOT pull fuel once you get into load. I'm dealing with this currently as I tune with efilive. I'm re-mounting mine on the frame rails just in front of the rear tire.

Hope this helps.

The pump doesn't control the pressure. That's the job of a pressure regulator. With a good aftermarket regulator, you can set the pressure wherever you want it.

Use an aftermarket pump like Aeromotive or Fuel lab, and then a return style regulator.

The amount of pressure you actually need depends on your injectors and tune. The computer tells the injector how long to be open. The fuel pressure determines the amount of fuel injected. If you use bigger injectors and a custom tune, you can use a lower pressure if you want to.
