Default Drive by cable setup

This might be a weird question, but I want to convert my DBW to DBC.

But I don't want to change throttle bodies, I want to modify my existing DBW.

If I modify my DBW so that it opens mechanically, will the computer accept this? Is this a legitimate concept? Thanks.

"Is this a legitimate concept?"
IMO, it's an exercise in "mental masturbation". If you want a dbc, buy the correct t/b, and do the pcm change[s]. Just sayin.

You'll have to accurately mount a TPS to the throttle shaft and drill/mount an IAC stepper motor. Do-able, sure. Worth while? Not really. Ebay DBC TB's are under $100 now, hardly worth the effort

Also, some aftermarket TB MFRs used a single TB casting with mounts for both the DBW motor/TPS and DBC TPS/IAC combos with the throttle cam mounting in place of the electric motor. The concept is sound. Application, esp with OEM stuff is challenging

Thanks. I actually ended up pulling one from a yard. didn't have a TPS but I just used the one from the DBW setup.
