Default Joining the failed fuel pump family

My '98 Z28 with 34k miles is idling erratically. It is also hard to start unless I let the pump prime for 3-5 seconds.
I checked the fuel pressure and it is reading about 69 at idle. Turned the car off and within 10 seconds, the pressure is down to about 20. The fuel filter is only months old. I am assuming the FPR or pump check ball is failing. Has anyone had success with eBay pumps? I don't want to fork out $200 if I can get it for $70. Or is this a case of getting what you pay for?

Thoughts?
